Custom Packaging Produced in the USA

Domestically sourced packaging has always been our firm stance and policy. We NEVER import any of our products or services for a multitude of reasons we will get into below. We believe in the importance of “Made in the USA” so much so that we dedicated a page to detail why it matters on our new Salazar Packaging website.

Aside from perhaps questions on pricing and lead times, there is no more frequently asked question than: “Are your products manufactured in the US?” The answer is always yes, and the same can most certainly not be said of most of our competitors.


Shorter Lead Times and Less Uncertainty

This is the big one. It is not unusual for us to receive several calls every month from  business owners who shares a tragic story of their past packaging supplier who was overseas and promised a delivery date they couldn’t meet. In many cases, weeks or even months later they were STILL waiting to receive product. It’s one thing to know the lead times will be long and to deal with that certainty and plan ahead. But when boxes are being imported, there are simply no guarantees and delays happen that no one can anticipate. This could push back company or product launch dates or leave you without packaging, and your customers without product.

We have many plants throughout the USA. East coast, west coast and here in our own backyard in the Midwest. This allows us the freedom and flexibility to not only know the lead times and possible transit times depending on where your ship to location is, but to also get full transparency and communicate with each plant to know machine availability, and run the job at the best possible location to deliver quality product ON TIME. Our lead times on most custom shipping box orders are about 3-4 weeks. We pride ourselves on this certainty and our ability to follow through.

Better Quality Control and Customer Service

Another great, often overlooked advantage of a domestically sourced packaging provider, is that we are easily reached, readily available, literally at any time. We often are responding to emails outside of business hours, and can be reached via phone and chat during normal business hours. You will never go days without hearing back from us. Our customers are often happily surprised and, frankly, shocked at the speed of our responses. They take comfort in knowing that any questions that arise will be answered.

We also have the ability to physically be standing at the machine, watching the production run with ink samples and print proofs in hand to ensure that the production is going exactly as anticipated. Our quality control is simply unmatched, and we know that this cannot be said of overseas packaging producers. Their quality is inconsistent, and often if you do end up with boxes that are not what you envisioned, you are not likely to get anyone on the phone who can help you. And even if you did, you’d have to wait months likely for a resolution or replacement product. We’ve heard all of the nightmare stories from people who received boxes from China that had misprints, bad board quality and many other problems. They may have saved a few pennies, but they regretted their decision the moment their boxes arrived.
