Salazar Packaging Custom Printing—What is Our Quality Control Process?

If you visit the home page of our website, you’ll notice a checklist of what differentiates us as a packaging resource, not just a packaging supplier. At the very top of the list, is that when you work with us, you are getting a personal branded packaging team at your disposal from initial inquiry, through production, and even after the boxes have arrived at your door. We believe this level of attention to detail on every order is our greatest differentiator. Below are just some of the ways we ensure quality control is at the center of our focus.

Initial Consultation and Dialogue

We fully understand that every product and application is unique. Yes, there are some similarities across projects, but ultimately, your packaging will be custom created for you and you alone. For this reason among others, we ask initial questions over phone, email or via an online Zoom, meeting or conference call to gauge what your expectations are, and how they align with what we can deliver. Sometimes the answer is yes, but not always. We will never promise something we can’t deliver, be it an unrealistic price or quote, or a lead time/deadline we can’t meet. We want to know your vision so that we can find out if and how we fit into it.

An Unmatched Structural Design Team

When we take on a new design project/challenge, we do so with decades of experience behind us. If you have spent any time looking at our gallery, you probably notice the wide variety of designs and concepts that we’ve created over the years, and there really isn’t a whole lot we haven’t seen. If your needs are for interior protective packaging, we specialize in creating solutions that are both effective and attractive so that presentation is not sacrificed in the process.

Ink Drawdown and Proof Approval Process

We insist on sending physical ink samples on EVERY first-time printed box run, with very few exceptions. Black or white ink typically does not require ink sample approvals, but we will certainly send ink samples for those colors if needed as well. We also require that you approve a digital print proof prior to production, and, when necessary, we can send a full-size physical print proof as well. This way we can catch any last-minute corrections or potential errors and our production team can be sure to be on the same page with your art/graphics team so that there are no surprises.

Being on Site For Production Runs

When necessary, we will have pre-production meetings with plant managers and their teams to ensure that all of the expectations are known prior to printing the first box, and we will watch production runs for hours if needed, to ensure that the initial setup is resulting in the print quality we expect. This allows us to make any changes as they arise during production (such as ink color adjustment, or print alignment) and not after, resulting in avoiding shipping boxes to you that you won’t love.

Whether you’ve had bad past experiences with other suppliers, or are embarking on your first custom packaging journey, we are here to help and provide the support and assistance you need along the journey. Our objective is never to get you to be a one-time customer, but a long-term customer. Reach out to us today to begin the dialogue!
